WALT:Write a reflection about last nights dine and dance
Last night was one of my favourite highlights here at Tamaki primary school,Last night I was dressed up all fancy for our school dine and dance,Me my friends Joe and Daimai went together to our school and as soon as we arrived at school we were excited and when we walked into the hall our jaws dropped.Not also because all our friends were there and the music was playing because 5 tables were filled with all sorts of foods such as ice cream and chicken.My unforgettable moment last night was when Garys face got creamed that it was the funniest thing I thought that happened last night.I also liked how everyone that was at the dine and dance last night including the teachers did the mannequin challenge,But what I really liked was everyone coming out of there shadows and expressing there feeling on the dance floor slow songs and fast songs.That is what really made me happy,We also had to take photos lots and lots at the end because this really nice guy named Ia gave up some of his time to cut some of the boys hair at school and that was a privilege so we took some photos to make a card and send it to him.There was also some tears because that dine and dance was not just for fun but also to farewell our year 8's because they are going to collage next year.

very excited to go we are staying there to stay for 3 nights and 4 days.

A celebration in November

and had ancient stuff inside like mummies,bones,symbols.Writing on the walls
and many more he was also known as Tutankhamun.What I found challenging was
researching things about him because he was born 100's of years ago and they didn't know
much information but I did my best to find out things about him and his life.My next step is to celebrate it next year.

Guy fawkes

On guy fawkes you get together with your family and friends to watch fireworks and make memories with each other.It is celebrated every 5th of november Guy Fawkes also known as Guido Fawkes the name he adopted while fighting for the Spanish was a member of a group of provincial English Catholics who planned the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605. Fawkes was born and educated in York.Here are some facts.

• Guy Fawkes was an experienced soldier. Although he didn't fight for his country, he fought for the Spanish against the Dutch in the Netherlands. This is where he gained experience with explosives, and also where he decided to call himself Guido.
• During his involvement in the Gunpowder Plot, Fawkes called himself John Johnson and gave this name when arrested.

It was fun doing activities in the water with our friends.Next time I going swimming I will be a lot better at listening because last lesson I wasent really focused.And also work on swimming 1 and a half lap without stoping and 3 laps withouts stoping doing freestyle.

Why should not we drink Fizzy's and Energy drinks

Why shouldn't we Drink Energy drinks?

I think energy drinks are not good because they make kids hyper.

Did you know there is a half a cup of caffeine in Energy drinks ?. If a child eats a teaspoon of caffeine it would speed up their metabolism.  Fizzy drinks are worse, for example a Classic Coke contains 34 milligrams of caffeine.

Too much caffeine or sugar can lead to diabetes.People with diabetes have a high blood sugar.Because caffeine is in coffee people who drink a lot of coffee are at risk of developing diabetes.This is the same for energy drinks

.The third reason that we should not drink energy drinks is because they have a lot of sugar and you will get fat.unless you are a high performing athlete eg Usain Bolt, your body cannot handle that amount of caffeine.

We should all try and stay away from energy drinks  because they are not healthy.

Kiwi can reflection

WALT: do a reflection about kiwi can. I really enjoyed kiwi can but mostly I enjoyed this game one person at a time had to say "Usain bolt is champ again".Then one person goes up the front to listen who's saying it but here is a little twist you have to say it in a voice that the person won't recognize.I would of done better at the game if I listened and really think I would of got a person out  but i didn't so I needed to work on my voice.

Kiwisport(Badminton)

KEVIN

Today we had Kiwisport we played badminton we had Kevin the badminton master and ben but he was away.Kevin taught us how to use the racket and hit the shuttle using a backhand technique.This will help us have control we buddied up I went with Jason he is my friend we both had to hit the shuttle to each other with the backhand technique then we all sat down and had a talk about having control.Then we stood up and bring the nets 

they look kind of like volley ball nets and we hit the shuttles over the nets and did twenty without dropping it then 40 then 60 it was very hard to get to sixty because our hand was getting sore from trying to do twenty and forty.

Badminton is a very cool game maybe you can try having ago at it.

Today I found something very interesting on kiwikids news I wrote about it because it is about my culture and its my grandparents favourite maori song.When they were kids it was a very popular song and the whole newzealand went crazy.It was sung by the patea maori club here they are now still singing and much older.

inspirational visit

On Friday we had the privelige to have  4 special guests come and visit our school there were firefighters yayyyyyyyyyyyy very exciting they taught us how to be firewise how do you be fires.They told us when there is a fire scream FIRE,FIRE,FIRE until your family gets up then GET DOWN,GET LOW,GET OUT.They also told us that fires can be caused by smokes,unattended cooking,heaters,fires(in the fireplace),electric blankets,fire works and many more.To be firewise they said to cheeck your fire alarms every month and if you test them and they sound like a cricket that means there flat.there are 3,000 fires in newzealand a year that is caused by manythings.Fires can burn the house in an incredable speed about 2 minutes your rooms gone 9 minutes your hole house is gone.The fire fighters showed us these claw things that open cars when a crash happens how cool is that, they stretch out to about 2 meters long.do you know what the first thing you do when you exit your house and find a safe place to stay put????? yes correct its call 111 when you call your not asking for police are you have to ask for the firefighters.Thanks guys for visiting it was very fun:)
